What are some tips to stay young?

Take vitamins, give up sugar, minimize salt, exercise regularly, and take care of your skin. Some people swear by collagen. It wasn’t around to the same extent it is now, so I can’t speak to it.

Then there is the attitude. As people age they often settle into rituals or routines. To stay young I believe you need to laugh at yourself and change your routines. Trying new things is important for keeping your mind active. For example, I love rap, jazz, funk, and pop because I tried listening to find something I liked. I do this now.

I love to dance. In the US you don’t see people my age dancing in clubs. In London, it is for all ages. How sad. Dancing makes me happy and is a great form of exercise. Learning a new dance routine or doing a YouTube challenge is great for the mind as well as the body.

One last thing to do is balance exercises. Americans have issues with falling as we age. While some of this is the inevitable aging of the inner ear. It can be minimized by standing on one leg yoga style (tree pose) and strengthening your core.

Other things to take care of are the knees ( don’t get discouraged). Quadricep exercises help a lot. You also want to reduce inflammatory foods that invite the pain of arthritis to the joints.

Also, stretching becomes more important and also encourages circulation to the joints.
