What fruits increase blood?

What fruits increase blood?

Blood is an essential component of the human body, and it is responsible for transporting oxygen and

nutrients to all parts of the body. The quality of blood is determined by the number of red blood cells

, white blood cells, and platelets in it. Fruits are an excellent source of nutrients that can help

improve the quality of blood. In this article, we will discuss some of the fruits that can increase blood in

 the body.

1. Pomegranate

Pomegranate is a fruit that is rich in antioxidants and contains high levels of vitamin C, which can help

Why do old people get tired so easily?

Why do old people get tired so easily?

So many but not all elderly people tire easily. There is a lot of confusion among the public about the cause(s). However, I worked for 40 years as a medical doctor and much is related to a person’s cellular mitochondria levels.

What is that you might say? Inside all human living cells, these tiny organelles called mitochondria convert our energy sources like blood glucose into electrical and chemical energy to ‘power up’ every living cell in our body.

Now, Why do elderly folks have fewer of these than children, adolescents, or young adults? The answer is genetically our bodies are ‘programmed’ to behave ‘economically’. What is that you may ask? Once the human body has finished puberty and we reach our early adult years genetic switching swings into action automatically and reduces the number of mitochondria to match the lower level of ‘energy’ all cells need for growing. The DNA coding kind of says, by some logic; ‘hey let’s not waste the effort to produce and refresh mitochondria the body may be able to get by with fewer’, so it resorbs and replaces some of them in every cell across time.

So, how do some older folks trick the body to register that each cell needs to keep up the number of mitochondria? The answer is cardiovascular-level activity. That’s why older folks who regularly do activities that increase their heart rate have much more energy: going to a gym, joining a dance class 3 nights a week, going for runs three times a week, using a stationary exercise bike while using a heart rate watch measuring their heart rate three times per week, work at a part-time job that is vigorous enough to raise their heart rate enough more than twice a week. (Remember those accounts you heard of very active people in their 90’s).

Why three times a week and how much to raise your heart rate you might say? Well, Google “age-adjusted” ‘heart rate zone training’ to find out it is much less difficult than you think for almost everyone. Why three times per week? Sufficient regular activity is needed to ‘trigger’ your metabolism to recognize it needs to make more mitochondria inside the cells. (There is a huge amount of research/university-published peer-reviewed journal articles still relevant. Much of the research is from the studies of ‘what is fitness” from the 1960’s. Plus, our bodies haven’t changed: after all elderly people have been feeling tired since the dawn of time; with examples of those elderly who kept active).

However, you should always consult your medical doctor(s) who will tell you if you have any heart/ lung conditions or medications you need to take, which means you are one of the few people who should not incorporate regular cardiovascular exercise into your routine.

Is it healthy to eat potato skin?

Is it healthy to eat potato skin?

Potatoes are considered to be one of the greatest foods in the world due to their high nutritional value

 and low price.

Some surveys have found that in Russia, Bulgaria, Ecuador, and other countries, there are several

famous "Village of Longevity", where people's staple food is potatoes.

Potatoes are rich in starch, vitamin C, vitamin A, B vitamins, dietary fiber, pantothenic acid, and

minerals such as phosphorus, calcium, magnesium, and potassium.

The vitamin content of potatoes is 2.5 times that of carrots, 3.3 times that of Chinese cabbage, and

4.2 times that of tomatoes, and the highest content of vitamin C is found in vegetables.

Studies have shown that potato skins have a vitamin content as high as 80%, which is much higher

 than that of potatoes.

Potato skin contains solanine which is a

glycoalkaloid, also a toxic substance in

potatoes.

However, the solanine content of potatoes is

negligible. The experimental data shows that

100 grams of potatoes with skin contain only

 0.025 grams of solanine.

An adult weighing 60 kg eats 15 kg of potatoes

with the skin on for several days. Ingested

solanine will harm his body.

However, no one can eat 15 kilograms of potatoes.

Therefore, potatoes are still quite safe, as long as you don't eat potatoes with the skin on in large

quantities over a long time.   Click here to get more health tips.

How do I stay healthy and live over 100?

How do I stay healthy and live over 100?

My top 5.

1. Stop backwards.

The majority of people over 70 are overweight, sedentary, and eat junk. Add to that smoking anything

and consuming excess alcohol and it’s no wonder people die young. Instead, before anything else,

stop heading backward and start walking forward. And it’ll take you a long way towards 100.

2. Natural health.

The majority of people over 70 in the U.S. take prescription drugs. The most prescribed include drugs

to control cholesterol, blood pressure, pain, type 2 diabetes, and indigestion. All have listed potential

serious side effects. Instead, learn how to build health naturally instead of pharmaceutically. And head

 towards 100.

3. Purpose.

The majority of people over 70 are retired. They spent a lifetime with a purpose to live. Then they retire,

struggle with boredom, and often have little purpose to live a long time. And too often die young.

Instead, keep working at something you enjoy which gives you purpose and a reason to live long. And

 keep living to 100.

4. Love.

Many people over 70 live lonely lives. Their spouse may be gone. Their children live at a distance.

, Friends have passed. And they find themselves lonely with little motivation to live long. Instead,

engage with those you love and make new friends. Loved people live long. And love living to 100.

5. Expect.

Many people over 70 sort of shut down in life. They figure life is short anyway so they might as well do

exactly what they want. Watch TV, eat and drink what they want, and not do anything they don’t feel

like doing. Unfortunately, their expectation becomes their reality. Instead, expect you can live long if

you live smart. Then, more than likely, your expectations will become reality. And hopefully to 100.

Certainly, living to 100 isn’t guaranteed for any of us. But pursuing the wrong things will probably

guarantee you won’t. It’s your choice.

And are you planning to live to 100?  keep reading my posts every time I post.

Which cancer is more likely to kill you

Which cancer is more likely to kill you without realizing that you have it?

This is not my experience. Someone just sharing their experience. I am just reproducing his article.

I can only speak from my own experience. I went to see my GP with a bunch of symptoms that weren't

related to each other or any set diagnosis. So, the GP gave me a diagnosis of catch-all fibromyalgia

when a diagnosis is lacking anything of substance AND sent me to see a shrink!

Well, six years later my blood work shows up that I have lymphoma, called CLL (Chronic Lymphocytic

Leukemia). It's probably the most common type of cancer with no cure and not very successful

treatment options. But, here's the thing about my cancer. I had lots of oddball kinds of symptoms, but

 the original blood

 test

was good. However, it's been twenty years since my diagnosis and I have not had ANY treatment

whatsoever. I have some kind of protein in my genetics that prevents the cancer from gaining any

ground. So, as far as the oncologist goes, I'll probably not die from the cancer but something else.

However, many people are afflicted with CLL and die from it. I only have my own experience with the

doctors and the tests, but most people will probably be symptom-free rather than feeling tired all the

time. I speak further from experience about my husband who was diagnosed with CLL as well and for

him, it was very aggressive. And yes, he died from cancer. He had NO symptoms other than a bad

pounding in his head and felt like he might have gotten the flu. Well, it turned out that the pounding

 in his

head was due to an extremely low platelet count and the doctor told me that if I had arrived an hour

later with him to the ER, it would have killed him.

Unfortunately, cancer remains being referred to as the silent killer because people don't start feeling

pain until the cancer has caused some serious and permanent damage. So, for the most part regarding various cancers, people are usually totally unaware that they have cancer until it's too late. It doesn't matter the type of cancer, cuz most cancers just creep along without the person knowing. It's

 the silent killer.

It's a good idea to get checked out at the doctor's office once a year, especially when you are over

forty. I managed to escape colon cancer by having a colonoscopy and had some precancerous polyps

removed. So, prevention is an important thing folks should take more seriously.

How many bananas can diabetics eat per day?

How many bananas can diabetics eat per day?

According to nutritionists, diabetics can also eat bananas. But eat in moderation. Since banana has a low glycemic index, it does not cause much harm to diabetics.

Diabetics can eat 1-2 medium-sized bananas per day. However, people who experience fluctuations in blood sugar levels should consume bananas only after consulting a dietician or doctor.

At the same time, diabetes patients should follow some rules to prevent the bad effects of bananas. They are as follows:

* To keep blood sugar under control, eat a small amount of banana for cravings.

* Avoid overripe bananas and eat lightly ripe bananas.

* When eating bananas, avoid taking too many other fruits. This will keep the blood sugar level in balance.

* When eating bananas with protein foods such as nuts, yogurt, sunflower seeds, or peanut butter, absorption of sugar is delayed.

The number of diabetic patients is increasing day by day. Diabetes is not a disease but a disorder. When the body does not produce enough of the hormone insulin, blood sugar levels rise, resulting in diabetes.

People with diabetes should be very careful with their diet. Along with that, exercise should be done regularly for some time every day. By doing this, blood sugar levels can be maintained. People with diabetes should avoid foods that are high in sugar, glycemic index, and carbohydrates. If you mainly eat fruits, be very careful. Because some fruits are tart and have a high glycemic index.

Banana is one fruit that diabetics should not eat. It is not true that bananas should not be eaten by diabetics. Diabetics can also eat bananas. So read on to know how many bananas a day diabetics can eat.

Benefits of Banana

Bananas are high in potassium, which helps in maintaining good heart health by controlling blood pressure in the body and preventing the risk of heart problems. Apart from this, bananas reduce the risk of stroke and help keep bones healthy. Bananas are also rich in vitamins and minerals, along with prebiotics.

Can diabetics eat bananas?

Diabetics can eat bananas. But it depends on their maturity. That said, raw or unripe bananas improve overall metabolic health. However well-ripened bananas are not so good for diabetics.

Unripe bananas are high in resistant starch and low in sugar. These resist digestion in the small intestine. This causes them to ferment in the colon and become food for the good bacteria in the colon. But if you eat a ripe banana every day, it will increase your blood sugar level quickly. So be careful.
