I am a beginner at the gym (6 months since I have been working out) but here are some things that I
learned during this period that helped me see good results.
- Stopped using my phone. Could you set it to do not disturb?
- Having a good gym playlist pushes me that extra bit.
- Started with strength training and saved cardio to the last. It seemed like even 10 minutes of
- The cardio at the end had an equal impact as my usual 30 minutes.
- Contrary to popular opinion, instead of targeting a body part a day, I enjoyed doing a full-body
- Work out every day. I was less tired and more ready for the gym every day.
- Start with the workout you find the hardest. I always found workouts targeting the triceps to be
- the hardest. I started with those the first when I had more energy, which allowed me to increase
- the weight consistently and two do the workouts in good form.
- Never skip stretching at the end.
- Consistency is more important than frequency. Do 3 workouts a week but stay consistent.
- Include some protein in your diet. A protein shake at the end of your workout is the easiest way
- to hit that intake requirement.
Wearing shoes and getting out of the house is the hardest part of a workout. Get through that and
the rest is a piece of cake. Happy Gymming!
